You can simulate the "customer experience" your user's will have when you use our licensing services with LicenseControl. Choose one of the following demonstration applications:
After you've downloaded the demonstration application and received your License ID, we recommend you proceed with the basic
demonstration trial sequence that will help you
quickly experience the basic LicenseControl
and Vendor Services capabilities.
Note that this is the worst-case simulation. If you were using an integrated e-store (e.g., Kagi, PayPal or your own), you receive the License ID(s) in the initial email receipt and the last two steps, indicated below, are nonexistent.
The demonstration provides the following:
- Presents a "download page" for the demonstration product
- Presents a form so you can "purchase" the demonstration product (for $0.00)
- When you "purchase" the demonstration product, the "e-store" sends you a receipt via the email address you provided, as you'd expect if you had completed a real e-store purchase. If the demo e-store was an integrated e-store (such as Kagi, PayPal or your own) this receipt would contain your License ID(s).
- The non-integrated demo "e-store" also sends the same email to the licensing server (an integrated e-store, such as Kagi, PayPal or your own doesn't require this step)
- Within a few minutes, the licensing server will receive the e-store's email, activate the License ID received via your purchase receipt and send you a confirmation email via the email address you supplied with your "purchase"
At this point, you are ready to license your demonstration application and should follow the instructions in the ReadMe file that was downloaded as part of the demonstration product.
This parallels the experience your customers will have (minus the last two steps if you're using an integrated e-store). As a Vendor, you configure our licensing services via our web-based Vendor Services interface.
