The following steps will help you understand the basic capabilities of both LicenseControl and the Vendor Services web site:

• Log into the demonstration Vendor's account (user demo, password demo)


• Find your "purchase" on the Posted Licenses report (it can take up to a few minutes to appear ... it's using the slowest/email-based interface)


• copy/paste your License ID and Activate your license


• Refresh the Posted Licenses report and click on the Lic entry for your "purchase"


• Click on the Licensing Requests link to see the license activation transaction


• copy the application and rename (i.e., you just upgraded to a newer version)


• Re-Activate the license (no License ID required ... that system's currently licensed!)


• Refresh the Licensing Requests report to see the license re-activation transaction


• De-Activate the license then reinstall the software to simulate moving it to another system


• Re-Activate the license ... not allowed because that system's not currently licensed!


• Refresh the Licensing Requests report to see the license de-activation and attempted re-activation transactions


• Activate the new copy


• Refresh the Licensing Requests report to see the new license activation transaction
