License Control delivers on the promise of making software licensing easy and inexpensive. Building your ∑own secure licensing mechanisms just to sell your software is both costly and challenging to maintain. Using license codes that can be "passed around" to other Users results in a significant loss of revenue. See The Problem for more information on this topic.
License Control lets you focus upon developing and marketing your products and minimizes your costs for protecting your software while maximizing your revenue. Combine that with an effective zero cost of entry, minimal per-license costs, no minimums or monthly costs and you have "licensing for the rest of us" — all delivered in a manner that Users appreciate.
As a Vendor, you have control over your setup, anytime access to your licensing resources and real-time reports for your sales/licensing transactions.

Core License Control Features
Cross-Platform Support
License Control supports the most prevalent computing environments:
products built for Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 (including plug-ins)
products built for Mac OS X 10.2 through 10.7 (including plug-ins)
Java products that run on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 or Mac OS X 10.2 through 10.7
yGuard Obfuscator v2.3.0.1 is also known to work in conjunction with License Control to help protect your Java application code due to de-compilation (License Control itself is native code)
Immediate, Customer-Friendly Licensing
Your Customer receives a code that enables them to activate their software:
for an integrated e-store (e.g., Kagi or Avangate and Avangate ARMS — or your own e-store), the code(s) arrive with the Customer's emailed receipt
for a non-integrated e-store, the codes arrive by separate email only minutes after the Customer's emailed receipt
there is no Vendor effort/time required (related to licensing) during the sales process
to license the application, the User provides their license code and presses a button to activate
the application is licensed to a given system
the User can un-license an application to move it to another system
multiple application copies/versions are allowed on a licensed system
applications can run from a server (i.e., mounted/shared volume)
Users can password-protect access to licensing operations (for multi-license codes)
licenses can be easily and securely managed by the User
licensing codes cannot be passed around to be used by others without the User giving away their own/purchased license(s)
Zero-Cost Licensing Support
We are available to perform any licensing support:
timely, friendly support your Customers regarding any licensing questions and issues
correspondence is entered into the customer's record (in the licensing DB)
optionally, you can perform your own licensing support
expert, in-depth support for Vendors and their developers, including setup assistance
License Control is a mature product so support is minimal
Frankly, the reason we can offer included support is because we find that less than 7 minutes of support per work-day is all that's required during the first year for every 10,000 licenses delivered.

Free, Easy-to-Use Developer Tools and Testing Capabilities
The tools you'll need to secure your applications are available to signed-up Vendors at no cost, including upgrades. The tools consist of libraries used to add the security mechanisms to your code and tools, procedures and FAQs that help developers create a secured, deliverable application. The process of adding
License Control to your code is straightforward and easy and adds only minutes to the construction process.
Free licenses are provided to test completed product deliverables and for general, internal Vendor use. This includes end-to-end testing that involves the sales process.
For more detail on securing your application, see Developer Information .
Mature Anti-Piracy Technology
The underlying
License Control mechanisms are the result of person-years of design and development matured over years of delivery experience and based upon a design created by decades-rich experience in the area of application and business security.
There are both passive and active anti-piracy strategies that involve encryption and multiple anti-hacking mechanisms. These are backed up by business process deterrents with active abuse monitoring and reporting.
License Control is the result of significant design effort by experienced computer and business professionals — it's only priced as though it comes from hobbyists.
Respect for Information Privacy
One of our underlying philosophies is a respect for information and other privacy, both for Vendor and Vendor-Customer information. There are many things we do, and don't do, to show this respect:
License Control never communicates information to our licensing server "behind a User's back"
Users can verify the content of all information that originated on their system and was sent to the licensing server (see our License Control FAQs )
only licensing operations, not subsequent application startups, require communication with the licensing server so there's no way to monitor a User's usage patterns, location, etc.
it is not necessary for a Vendor to provide their Customer's information details
during the licensing process, no User-identifying or business-related information is transferred to our licensing server, only numeric (not named) system identification and licensing information
We respect other's privacy as though it was our own. In the end, we are bound by Canada's information privacy laws which are relatively severe — and we think this is a good thing.
