Test LicenseControl's Basic Capabilities

After you get the demo application, the following steps will help you understand the basic capabilities of both LicenseControl and the Vendor Services web site:

  1. Log into the demo Vendor's account (username is "demo" and password is "demo")
  2. Find your "purchase" on the Posted Licenses report
  3. from the "receipt" email you received, copy/paste your License ID and Activate your license
  4. Refresh the Posted Licenses report and click on the "1" link in the LIC column for your "purchase"
  5. Click on the Licensing Requests link to see the license activation transaction
  6. copy the application and rename (i.e., you just upgraded to a newer version)
  7. Re-Activate the license (no License ID required ... that system's currently licensed!)
  8. Refresh the Licensing Requests report to see the license re-activation transaction
  9. De-Activate the license then reinstall the software to simulate moving it to another system
  10. Re-Activate the license ... not allowed because that system's not currently licensed!
  11. Refresh the Licensing Requests report to see the license de-activation and attempted re-activation transactions
  12. Activate the new copy
  13. Refresh the Licensing Requests report to see the new license activation transaction

You get the idea — simple but very capable!
