The license fees are an investment that brings greater overall revenue. And remember, we handle those questions ... mostly like "My dog ate my license code, what is it?" and "[I don't read manuals or look before I ask, so] how do I move my license?" ... we're happy to answer these so you use that time to do more profitable work.
In addition to the above fee schedule:
- testing licenses are free
- give-away/free NFR/Evaluation licenses are $0.50 (not time limited)
- Trial licenses are $0.25 (time limited from 1 to 60 days) ... NOT required for Trial mode operation
- Trial/unlicensed mode operation has NO fee
Accounting
If you are a Kagi Supplier, your per-license fees are computed and posted to the Kagi Supplier system to appear as a commission on your regular Kagi Supplier statements. Kagi Suppliers are not required to maintain a Credit in their Vendor account.
As a Vendor who is not also a Kagi supplier, you only need to maintain enough credit in your account to cover your per-license fees. A per-license fee is computed each time a customer purchases your product(s) and the License ID is posted to the licensing server and becomes available for use by that customer. As the credit amount in your account gets low, you are alerted so you can replenish your account credit.
To increase your credit, you simply purchase our $50 Licensing Services Vendor Credit product in the quantity that you deem appropriate for your rate of sales. The total credit amount is posted to your Vendor account.
Web-based access to your Vendor account allows you to maintain and monitor your account in real time, including the licensing and accounting transactions. You create your own user accounts and assign a level of access to various areas of your Vendor account that's appropriate for your operation.
*All dollar amounts are in US dollars.
